Closing: The Final Step
This is the final part of the home selling process. People commonly misuse the term "closing" when referring to "settlement". Settlement is the act of sitting down and signing the closing documents. Shortly thereafter, once everything is in order, the title/escrow company will record the transaction with the county, and disburse all funds, that is considered "closing." We always represent our clients during the settlement procedure. We will get all documents from the title company as soon as they are prepared and review them with you and physically accompany you to the title/escrow company to make sure everything is exactly as it should be.
